List 3-5 of your favorite childhood memories. The earliest you can rememeber. Moments you would relive if you could. This will work better if you list memories from age 13 or younger.
1. When I was about...I think 7, we moved into our second appartment (the one we lived in until I was 10, and that's when we moved to the house). While we were still moving in, I set up a corner in my closet with a few blankets and a pillow. I would hide in the closet with my walkman and listen to the Little Mermaid soundtrack. That was all I'd do; sit in the dark, listening to the music. I knew EXACTLY what track was when, even for the instrumentals. I think this was just the beginning of my music-junkie-ness
2. During the years in that appartment, I hated everybody...except a select few. (I call that neighborhood "Land of the Bullies From Hell" for a reason.) So I would deliberately get up early, while everyone was at school (I was home schooled, remember?) so I could go out onto the playground and ride the swing in peace.
3. When I was 10-11, my grandmother had taken up the hobby of making Christmas villages with figurines that she'd find in stores. One of the things she used in nearly all of her villages was a beautiful electronic carosel that lit up, rotated, and played music. I loved it so much, and would spend hours at their house just watching it. Anyway, my grandpa was in the hospital that Christmas due to a nasty concussion, so we spent that Christmas morning there. It was overall a happy experience; Grandpa was much better off than the last time I saw him, and he was probably going to recover very quickly after. So we were talking and laughing, and opening presents, overall having a good time. It was almost time to leave, and I noticed that we forgot one last present. It was for me. I opened it...it was a carosel exactly like Grandma's. I was crying the rest of the day. (happy tears, of course)
