Title: No title
Category: Original
Rating: G
Genre: Teen
Summary: A short story about why you don't piss off the geeky girl!
Status: Complete
This was a Creative Writing project; using the last 4 digits of our phone number, we had a character, a setting, a conflict and an outcome chosen, and we had to write a short story about it. I got:
Character: Snob
Setting: Party
Conflict: Quiet Girl vs. Bully
Outcome: Physical suffering
"Will you move? You're in my seat!" quipps Ashley to the geeky girl on the couch, supposedly named Amelia. She peeks up awkwardly from her book, returning to the reality that was the Senior graduation party.
"I'm sorry...I was here first, I didn't know--"
She never finishes her sentense; a hand belinging to football captain Jimmy grabs her by the hair and throws her to the floor.
"Why don't you just go back to Weirdoville, Four Eyes!" Ashley laughs, barely glancing up from her pocket mirror. Amelia picks herself up, hoping to set the Prom Queen's perfect hair on fire with her eyes. Nobody notices, however; all eyes are on handsome King Jimmy and his Lady Ashley, cuddling on the couch that Amelia contaminated moments ago with her presense.
The evening doesn't end there, however. Blows to Amelia's barely existent ego were struck all night from aggresive elbowing away from the snack table to "accidental" spills from Her Highness's drinks. An hour barely passes since the expulsion from the couch when Amelia decides to go home. Coat in arm, her hand is on the doorknob when the drunk Prom Queen bursts out from her throne;
"Look, there she goes! Off to crawl under her rock where she belongs! Bye-bye little snake! Ha!"
In one second, Amelia changes her mind. Fists on her hands, she marches across the room, and Ashley learns how hard it is to be perfect and beautiful with a broken nose.
