I've been thinking for a long time about learning to play the violin. I keep imagining myself playing various songs I love on it and it feels like it could be fun. Mom even said she'd think about letting me use hers so it's put to good use, and Anthoney offered to teach me.

For some reason though I'm really hesitant to make a definite decision. I don't know why...it's not like it'd hurt to try (well, it might hurt my fingers lol). Maybe I'm just worried about getting too frustrated with it and giving up too soon, or just being unmotivated and not practicing enough. Or something.

I'm not really sure. I don't even know why I felt the need to post about it >>

I wish I learned. It sounds like an awesome opportunity, and don't worry if it doesn't work out. Violin sounds cool but it's not the perfect instrument for everyone. So if you "give up" too soon, don't sweat it.

Why not give it a try and even if you end up quitting that'll only teach you more about yourself. I've taken several approaches to teaching myself Spanish and have already failed twice. The first time because I didn't set a clear goal and thus lost interest. The second because even though I had a goal, I was too rigorous and burnt myself out very quickly. I'm preparing to attempt it again with this information in mind until I finally get it. I think your violin could be the same, or if you find out it's not for you as your other friend said, then maybe you'll be able to use what you learned for another interest. Anyway, good luck and have fun! :)

I'd love to learn the violin!! I can play the flute, which is cool on it's own, but I've always loved the violin. You're lucky you have someone with a violin you can use... that's really the only thing stopping me XP

You should at least give it a chance, I'm sure you won't regret it! I learnt to play a fair bit when I was in my first school and gave up because I knew I was driving everyone insane with my constant practising. I wish I'd never given it up for reasons to do with everyone else!

Even if you don't get on with you, you can say you tried and that's something you owe yourself. You never know, it could be the next big thing for you!

Take me, I never once thought I would be learning 3 languages at once, and here I am. It's funny just how things turn out.
