My mom got me a new lamp and fan to go in my room! And I love them both; the old lamp goes on top of my bookshelf, and the new one is next to my computer, and the fan is across from where I usually sit.
I ESPECIALLY love the fan! When you’re sitting in my room in the summer and go “Hmm…it’s a little chilly, I think I’ll turn the fan down” THAT’s a DAMN good fan! My old fan could go on high all it wanted and I’d still be broiling.
I have the best mom ever.
To do in this process:
-final cleanup – pick up what’s gotten messed up again, throw away the old empty boxes, find a place for the old fan and computer
-weed out old worn out clothes in my dresser
-do laundry AND PUT THE CLOTHES IN MY DRESSER
-find a new tv (or see if my old one can be hooked up to an adapter) and VCR/DVD player) (note: DVD player isn’t really a necessity compared to the VCR since I can watch DVDs on my laptop, but it’d be nice to not have my movie blocked by IM windows and stuff)
-talk to mom about orginization; she mentioned some better ways to store the stuff under my bed that could give me a chance to get rid of the bunk I have and get one of the mattresses I always sleep on in the basement into my room instead, which could mean improved sleep upstairs
-contemplate a bean-bag chair?

Date: 2008-07-25 11:42 pm (UTC)About the TV -- I have one (16"? 19"?) that needs a good home. The catch is that it has no remote and no way to natively use one. It IS cable-ready and has been connected to a VCR so if either one of THEM has a remote, you're golden. Otherwise it works just fine.
You can have it if you can arrange for pickup here and delivery there. Email me if interested.
