I give up. Germany's not happening. It's too short notice, it's not worth that much money for a maybe.

In other news, probably related, I'm uber-unmotivated today. I have so much shit to do and I can't bring myself to do it. It's all overwhelming and I'm just sitting here staring at my laptop in a haze, then randomly bursting into tears.

I can has cope?

*hug* That sucks. I'd recommend going ahead and getting applying for a passport, so that bits ready for next time.

Yes you can cope. You might not enjoy it, but you are in fact, strong, smart, and capable enough to cope.

What you've learned is that (right now), it takes more resources than you can reasonably muster to decide to go to another country on this kind of notice. Learning what one can reasonably do and on what kind of timetable is not always fun, but it is VALUABLE data. It gives you a realistic idea of your current limits and therefore, if you can get a realistic idea of what it takes to be able to do this, you can plan and work more effectively.
Knowing your current limits is actually very empowering.
1) It can save you alot of wasted time and energy, which makes your efforts more effective overall.
2) Every limit you figure out how to transcend empowers you more, and having finite goals with finite solutions makes that quest manageable and more achievable.

I had a sad but kind of funny lesson in limits once that wound up with me getting a piano stuck in a doorway. Ask me to tell it to you sometime.
