Laptop beith fixed! As far as we can tell this moment anyway. The guy came and replaced the hard drive, and even fixed the disc drive which was apparently having trouble. The current step is to re-install Windows, so I have to see if we have a Windows CD around, and if not ask Greg. Hopefully we have one because oh my GOD I hate depending on the campus computers and mom's laptop.

Well, partially fixed. Apparently, tech weenie didn't actually bring a restore disc with him, or re-install the OS himself. So, we she got was a backup CD with the wrong set of drivers for both her network & sound cards.

Blech.

She's trying to lookup and download the correct drivers from Pooh's laptop as I type this.

But that turned out to be not do-able. Dell is sending her restore CDs through snail mail.
