1. How did you find out about anime conventions?
maugorn took me to Katsucon as a birthday present.

2. What and where was your first convention?
I've been attending cons most of my life, but my first anime convention was Katsucon...god, what year WAS that?!?

3. How old were you at your first convention?
For Katsucon, I think 12 or 13. It's been too long.

4. Did you cosplay at your first convention, and if so, as whom?
I've done some costuming at scifi/fantasy cons, most of which I don't remember, but my first three anime cons, no cosplaying

5. How many conventions have you attended presently?
Anime cons: Four different one-day stays at various Katsucons, all three days of Otakon '05, and Sunday of Otakon '06

6. What was your favorite convention and why?
Otakon '05, because it was the biggest con I'd ever attended (and the first anime con I'd ever attended for all three days), I got to hang out with David, and it was my first time ever playing Katamari Damacy, Donky Konga, and Taiko Drum Master

7. List all your cosplays that you've cosplayed in the past (that you can remember) and tell which one is your favorite.
Listing all the ones I've done for conventions...not much. I went as Musashi from Pokemon at Darkover '98, with equilinvain with me as Kojiro. Philcon and Darkover '99, I was Saria from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Otakon '05, I was Flea from Chrono Trigger all of Saturday (nobody recognised me ;_;). Katsucon one year, I did a pseudo-cosplay of Aniyaku (one of the bathhouse workers) from Spirited Away; I just wore a sweater like his, carried a homemade fan and wore cardboard bath tokens on my badge. (I might still have the tokens somewhere) Saria was my favorite, hands down. I need to find some pictures and scan them.

8. If you have a dream convention that you want to attend, what is it?
I really want to visit Katsucon for more than a day sometime, but even more so, I want to attend one of those big gaming conventions I've heard about in January; I've found I prefer games over anime (even though I still like anime :D)

9. Do you attend convention events, such as panels, karaoke, etc.?
Depends on the convention. I never go to panels at any convention. At most conventions, I'll go to the masquerade, and if there are good-looking concerts (*cough* Clam Chowder *cough*) I'll go to them. Otherwise, it's just photography and gaming.

10. Have you ever entered a masquerade? And if so as who and did you win?
Buff and I won Best Media Presentation at Darkover as Musashi and Kojiro, and I won Best Recreation for Saria the year after :D

11. Do you buy anything in the dealer's room? If so, what do you buy?
I never have enough money for Dealer's Room stuff :D

12. Do you buy anything in the artist alley? If so, what do you buy?
The only time I was ever at Otakon's art gallery was with David when he went to pick up a commission. Pretty stuff, but I didn't buy anything.

13. What is the longest distance you've traveled to get to a convention either by plane or car?
Katsucon probably.

14. Have you met your favorite English voice actor?
I don't go to panels.

15. Do you generally go to conventions with friends? Or your special someone? Or both?
My friends go to most of the conventions I do. I've been alone at Katsucon usually, except one year when rinichan went with me. I was by myself at Otakon, but David was going to, so that doesn't really count :)

16. Have you met a special someone at a convention and then hooked up there, or after?
Would you call Ian a special someone?

17. Do you regret going to any specific convention? And if so, why?
My only regret about Otakon '06 was that I couldn't go earlier.

18. What conventions do you have planned for next year?
If I can afford to go to a con, I'll go to it. I'll probably go to Balticon, if I have a way in, and I'll almost definitelly go to Darkover. As for anime cons, Katsucon and Otakon are my goals for attendance, since they're local, and if I can somehow make it to other anime/game cons, I'll go to them.

19. Have you made your dream costume yet? If so, who/what is it?
I have multiple dream costumes, but Saria kicked major ass.

20. Do you go by your forum name/pen name/nickname at cons?
If you see anyone, anywhere, online or in real life, under the name Saria, Sage Saria, or Saria-chan, there's a pretty high chance that it's me ^_^

21. Do you have a convention that's on your birthday?
Katsucon is always on the weekend of my birthday or on Valentines Day weekend.

22. What is your current favorite anime/manga? Have you cosplayed it yet?
Gravitation and Senkaiden Houshin Engi...I wish :P

23. Do you make your own costumes, thrift them, or get them commissioned, etc?
Depends on the costume. Sometimes I can get away with specific articles of clothing just being used, I do plenty of sewing, and if I can't find a wig in the right style, I'll style one myself. Often I'll add my own flare to it; Flea didn't look like Flea because I sought stuff out that I thought he would like to wear :)

24. Do you have any retired costumes? If any, why are they retired?
Musashi is retired because it was a crappy costume, Saria is retired because I'm a little big for it now, and I *might* manage to do Flea another year, if I can get everything together, and if the wig doesn't fade too much on me.

25. What costumes do you have planned for next year? Or if there are a lot of them, what series?
I don't know what I'm doing next year, except that I want to go as Vaarsuvius from Order of the Stick for Halloween, but to see what other things I want to do, go to my cosplay list: http://sagesaria.livejournal.com/183251.html

Still suffering the shakes being home from Darkover.

If I don't make Katsucon, probably Balticon.
