X-Play gave Twighlight Princess a 5 out of 5!

Do you hear me? The king and queen of video game snark...the G4 duo infamous for labeling everything they review "average"...just gave Twighlight Princess...

FIVE! OUT! OF! FIVE!!!!

Someone get me a Wii. Now.

Seriously, though, I'm still holding out for the Gamecube version. When I start getting an income the Wii's probably next on my list.

Speaking of Gamecube, I feel much more calm about the broken situation; trying to make plans so that [livejournal.com profile] madbodger will be here or my Gamecube will be there, and there will be tinkering. Also, as a back-up plan, if for some unlikely, horrible reason he can't fix it (which is very unlikely; I have faith in him :D), my classmate and fellow gamer geek Jonathan mentioned that he doesn't really want his anymore; apparently the Wii compats with Gamecube games? Not to mention, acording to Ian, there are options with the Wii that act as a Nintendo Game iTunes :P

But anyway, that's my gaming post of the day. Saria out! Eventually there will be a Darkover recap! (I need more video game icons :P)

Sometimes XPlay has some good reviews. What REALLY irks me is when they concider it so bad that they just go off on something else completely irrelevant. Like their most recent DBZ game review...most of it was just pointless crap about the life history of some new robot they CGId in to do the review. >:(

Isn't it though? ^___^ I'm seriously tempted to make it my default.

Wow, glad to see X-Play actually has some up-to-date stuff lately.

Seems like whenever I tune in, almost everything on G4 is old news.

I mean, a month ago they were still playing E3 news!

Yeah, as far as I know the Wii is back-compatible with every Nintendo game ever.

OMGZ! I was in New York on Wednesday, and the Toys R Us building had a demo of the Wii up! It was a bunch of Wiis with various games in them. And one of them was Twilight Princess! But...well. Idunno. What I want to say isn't a spoiler for the plot of the game at all (I barely saw any at all), it's my impression of the look-feel of the game. So I'll put it in white text, and you can highlight it to read my opinion.

The graphics sucked! It was nothing like the promo images. The 3d modeling was really nice, lightyears ahead of the N64 models, but the rendering...was crappy. There were all these white artifacts around the edges of things. And that, combined with the text boxes and the way the camera swung around, I dunno, but...it felt like a generic crappy Japanese RPG. A few things were really amazing, like the water, and the sky, but I really hope it's better on the Gamecube.

I'm still holding out. For Wii AND for Gamecube. Everything else I've heard said it lived up to the hype.
