The X button on my PS2 controller is acting weird. It takes several presses for it to register the command.

....Do I need a new controller?

If you do, we take it straight back to the store, since you haven't had it that long.

That's what I was thinking too. Although the games I have use the X button a lot, so that's why I'm worried....

Most likely, yes.

Try smacking the controller up a few times and saying "Cmon you little piece of shit! WORK!" If it don't work after that, you might as well get a new one, cus you prolly broke it. ^_^

Easy way to find out is to try a different controller. If you don't have another
playstation controller (PS1 controllers work fine with a PS2, BTW), ask one of
your friends over, and have them bring one. And maybe a spare PS2. And
maybe some Taiko drum controllers. And a copy of Katamari Damacy (which
is really useful to have if your X button is broken). And some cake. And a
pony. Yeah, that's the ticket.
