So while I’m still on a Kingdom Hearts kick, I decided to look for a timeline of the movies so I can do this goal. I found a good list, and it said that the movies are, in chronological order…
Snow White
Pinnochio
Fantasia
Dumbo
Bambi
Ichabod and Mister Toad
Cinderella
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
Lady and the Tramp
Sleeping Beauty
101 Dalmations
Sword in the Stone
Winnie the Pooh
The Jungle Book
Aristocats
Robin Hood
The Fox and the Hound
The Black Cauldron
Great Mouse Detective
Oliver and Company
The Rescuers
The Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
Pocahantas
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules
Mulan
Emperor’s New Groove
Atlantis
Treasure Planet
And that’s as far as the list I found went.
From what I remember of those movies, it looks like it had its ups and downs. After Disney died, they started making so-so movies (although I LOVED The Fox and the Hound and Sword in the Stone), then made four really good movies in a row (Little Mermaid through Lion King), then went on a really bad streak, with exceptions of Mulan, the first five minutes of Hunchback, and all the Pixar movies (although I don’t really associate them with Disney anymore).
I haven’t seen most of the new stuff though, and a lot of this list I haven’t seen in years (I want to watch Sleeping Beauty soooo bad right now…it’s been ages…). So sometime soon I’m going to rent as many Disney movies as I can and watch them in chronological order, taking notes on them. I’ll probably even make a party of it; I know some friends who love Disney.
