sagesariaI don't remember exactly why Nightwish reminds me of Midna so much. I think it's because before I started playing her, I listened to my two albums of them that I owned, and tried somehow to associate as many songs as I could with Twilight Princess, because I was addicted to the game (and I didn't even own it yet; the only time I'd played was New Years when my friend Rowan brought it over). Probably of course because a lot of their songs have that mystical edge to them, and I think Tarja's voice reminded me a little of Trueform!Midna (yes, I had that spoiled for me be accident T_T). A lot of Midna's personality is influenced by Nightwish.
I may be stretching it for some of these, but here we go ^^;;;;
Bless the Child: It's mostly the introduction for this one, especially the line "I dote over my future, relive my past, and witness the beauty of the beast"; Midna does exactly that. And on the whole album whenever they mention a beast makes me think of Link. Wolves are sacred creatures to the twili, after all.
End of All Hope: Not much here that influences Midna, but I did see the TP Trailor set to this one a while ago so it's kind of associated with Twilight Princess in my mind.
Dead to the World: This...just reminds me a little of the Twilight Realm.
Everdream: (I put the live version for this one because I REALLY like this version live, which is rare for me) This song is, hands down, how Midna loves. She's very posessive, passionate, and needy.
Slaying the Dreamer: Always sounds to me like Midna talking to Zant. Sometimes even the other way around, in a weird way. But yes, her anger toward Zant and also a little bit of her fear of him.
Forever Yours: Not completely Midna, again, but it does remind me a little of Midna's fears about loving Link, namely fear of losing him. Also the first line, "Fare thee well, little broken heart" was my focus when Mello broke up with her; Mello was hurt because Near left, so he pushed her away; she was saying goodbye to his broken heart.
Ocean Soul: If I'm correct in what an Ocean Soul is, this doesn't totally suit Midna either, though it does share the longing that Midna has for home, and the line "I only wish to become something beautiful" suits her.
Feel For You: Another good example of Midna's obsessiveness in love. Also her tendancy to lurk in the shadows; "I'm the breath on your hair, the endless nightmare, devil's lair". Also "The lilly among the thorns, the prey among the wolves" is interesting, because she's normally more like a thorn or a wolf herself, but in love, she's a little more...vulnerable, I guess? That's certainly how she was with Mello.
Phantom of the Opera: (another life version 'cause it's the only time I've heard Tarja do the correct vocals at the end) Midna would probably love this play XD
Beauty of the Beast: I think of this one as Midna and Link's love song. For the moment anyway, because he's not in the game. "Will we find each other in the dark, my long lost love?" is perfect. Also I love the line "You told I have the eyes of the wolf, search them and find the beauty of the beast"; it sounds like a Link-ish line, but I think it also still works for Midna; once again, she's kinda wolf-like, and wolves are the devine beast. "All of my songs can only be composed of the greatest of pain": GREAT angst line XD
Nemo: Midna's constant angst of feeling lost and how she longs to go home and regain her identity as the Twilight Princess.
Creek Mary's Blood: (live again omg I love this version) Midna's actually not a big fan of this song. But I guess there's a little bit of bitterness toward the situation her people are in?
The Siren: This is a biiiiig inspiration for Midna. I actually tried to write a song to this melody about her, but it didn't work so well ^^;;;; the overall haunting nature always reminds me of her, and the eerie vocals in the middle sound like the spirits in the Twilight-covered Hyrule.
Romanticide: stretching it, but some of the idea of Midna's possible past relationship with Zant?
Ghost Love Score: This song will forever have something ELSE Zelda-related associated with it in my mind, but there is still some here, like the first lines of the second half of the song: "Bring me home or leave me be, my love in the dark heart of the night. I have lost the path before me, the one behind will lead me."
Gesthemane: I'm not a big fan of this song, but a few of the lines are MidnaLink-ish: "Another beauty Loved by a Beast Another tale of infinitely dreams Your eyes they were my paradise Your smile made my sun rise" again with the beauty-beast analogy, and I like the sunrise line because Midna doesn't really have a sunrise, being a creature of twilight. Also "I weep to have what I fear to lose"
Moondance: It just works somehow; she's a creature of the dark, so she would be close with the moon. And the music itself is pretty intense like her emotions can be. Sometimes I get this image in my head of Midna playing this song on a violin, I don't really know why.
Sleeping Sun: I've mentioned it before, this is her song ^^
Last of the Wilds: I can just see her riding like the wind with Link ^_^
Yeah, kinda rambling and some of that sounds like BS, but there you go XD
