Prompt: #43: Giggly
Fandom: Flamingo Heights/Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time+Yu Yu Hakusho
Genre: General
Rating: G
Notes: Inspired by a happening during this event. Probably could've done better. Again.
Saria had seen a lot of things during her stay in Flamingo Heights. In a town full of gawking pink flamingos, freak snowstorms, and other unusual happenings, she had come to expect them from time to time.
However, when she came out of the room Kurama had declared hers and went down the stairs to the living room, she was not expecting to find a mountain of small fuzzy purple creatures.
At first all she could do was stand in the doorway and stare, not sure what to make of this sight. Then she decided she should try to say something, which only ended up being an awkward "U-uh..."
At the sound of her voice, the creatures turned their heads in unison to look at her, all of them making an inquisitive sound. Saria froze as they looked at her, uncomfortable with all of their tiny eyes on her. Then one of them suddenly squeeked and jumped at her.
"Eep!" she helped, flinching as the creature jumped lightly onto the top of her head. It stayed there a moment, then bounced lightly down her shoulder, its fur tickling her face as it moved. It stayed on her arm, looking at her with beady eyes, chittering softly. Saria had that chance to take a good look at it. It looked almost feline with its pointed ears, round face and long fluffy tail, but it had no legs or even a body to speak of. Just its tail and head.
Well whatever it was it seemed harmless enough, and kind of cute, so Saria smiled at it.
"Hello there," she said, offering her hand to pet it. The creature sniffed at her fingers, then suddenly lunged itself at her, wrapping its whole body around her arm, emitting a strange sound that one could define as an equivalent of purring. Tiny orange wings flapped rapidly, buzzing as the vibration cause a tingling sensation to creep through Saria's arm, as though it had fallen asleep. She blinked at the odd sensation, then giggled and scritched the creature behind the ear.
It squeeked again before finally releasing Saria's arm and returning to the pile of creatures. It was then that Saria noticed an arm reaching out of the purple mountain.
"...Shuichi-kun?"
Indeed it was Kurama Shuichi's arm, and all he could say in response was a quiet, apathetic "Mrph."
Saria didn't even bother restraining a of giggles at the sight.
