Eyes Shut Tight

You came to us
With the evil one
But you are not like her
You give me hope
As I lie here
Eyes shut tight
Drifting
Sleeping
Praying
Dying

I cannot see
But I feel you there
Sitting on my bed
Not knowing my face
Talking to me
Hoping for me
Crying for me

I’ve never seen you
And yet we are one
Your pain is mine
My hope is yours
Your sadness burns me
Your madness drowns me
Your fear consumes me

You do not yet know it
But the evil one knows
Which is why she brought you here
You are the only one who can do what she fears
Only you can see me
Only you can wake me
Only you can destroy me

When you leave, she hurts you
She takes me away
She ties me down
To torment you
Anger you
Tear you apart
With me

I have no color
I have no face
I cannot stop the evil one
I cannot save you

I long to see myself
See the world
See your eyes

Yet I approach death
With darkened skin
That falls apart
As moments pass
And the Evil One angers you

Notes: I have seen the end of .hack//SIGN, so I know that by the time Aura woke up, she had no clue what was going on. But somehow I felt like this was going through her head anyway, and when I got the idea, I hadn’t seen the end yet. But I hope you enjoyed it either way!
