SageSaria9475: heh, I just watched Advent Children twice in a row. wtf XD

SageSaria9475: because i got it in netflix INSTEAD of the DVD I wanted, so I'm watching it as quickly as I can so I can stuff it back into the mailbox tomorrow to be picked up Monday. Watched Japanese and English
SageSaria9475: The dub was about what I expected XD
tasogare sage: I didn't mind the dub too much, actually. but yeah XD
SageSaria9475: if Cloud and Vincent could actually ACT it would have been better XD
SageSaria9475: but I did like that it was pretty true to the original dialogue. Like Cloud saying "Tadaima" getting dubbed as "I'm back" instead of the subtitled "thanks". Or Denzel's "kono yaro" which I believe, as it gotted dubbed, roughly means "son of a bitch", not "you're dead" like the sub claimed
tasogare sage: *nods* I did like that. and yeah, some of the voices needed to put more effort into it. I liked Reno's voice, though

SageSaria9475: I need to play more FF7. I got by in Advent Children because I sorta-kinda remembered what I saw of it, and they explained enough to get by

tasogare sage: yeah, that thing XD I sat down and watched it
SageSaria9475: me too. I still could only follow some of it though

SageSaria9475: I'm such an old-fashioned geek too; in the final battle in the movie, I was singing the ORIGINAL OWA lyrics over the new ones XD (partially because I don't know the new lyrics)
tasogare sage: they changed the lyrics? *didn't know that*
SageSaria9475: yeah, during the final battle they have the remixed OWA with electric guitar, and new lyrics. Kinda startling the first time I heard it. I was all set to sing along and was like "Estua--wait, wtf?"
tasogare sage: Huh, I didn't notice XD;; I mean I noticed the remixed music but not the lyrics

tasogare sage: XD yeah, people who didn't know FF7 were probably like "wtf random dead chick"

SageSaria9475: my friend Heather only knew the Final Fantasy series by name, so when our anime club announced that we were watching Advent Children, I had to fill her in on what I knew
SageSaria9475: which was basically something along the lines of "Sephiroth is awesome, Cloud is emo, and Aeris dies"
