Into the Woods
Apr. 25th, 2004 12:20 pmWhat is wrong with me??? I even procrastinate on things that I want to do!
Anyway, I saw Into the Woods on Friday. It was fun. Avnish (someone I know from the former Improv team) played the cow, Milky White, and his costume was ridiculous! Milky White is supposed to be SKIN and bones, not just bones! But he played her really well. He was very silly. Especially when she died.
The mikes went off during BOTH of the witch's best numbers, and that was really frustrating. And Jack wasn't the best singer in the world. He'll never live up to his brother's performance of Mr. Doolittle in My Fair Lady. And Little Red Riding Hood was COMPLETELY off key, and kept switching keys, in the middle of her big number (I Know Things Now).
But the rest of the cast was great. Arden's mike kept going off as he spoke, but now that he's not wearing a beard like in The Tempest, he can actually project, so you could hear him even without the mike. And Eliot and Danny were awesome as the princes. And Mom thinks I'm cracked 'cause I think Danny's cuter. *sticks tongue out at Mom*
Anyway, Bobby was awesome, as always. There was one scene where he's supposed to knock on Jack's door, but the percussion people didn't make the knocking sound, so he improvised by looking at his hand as if there was something wrong with it. Tee hee! That was really cute. At least he didn't almost knock over the lamp post like at My Fair Lady. Tee hee...poor Bobby.
And Jeremy (Not the Jeremy I had a crush on) played an awesome wolf. It's a little bit of a shame that they split the roles of the wolf and Cinderella's prince, 'cause then we could have Danny play the wolf *drooooool*, but Jeremy was a good wolf none the less.
Oh, and before the play, someone in the pit was warming up by playing the Song of Time from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I know someone in the pit, so tomorrow I'll ask him who that was :)
All in all, it was a fun experience. But kinda sad too, 'cause it reminded me that all of my favorite thespians are seniors ;_;
