reposting the list, with some additions:
- 85% of the computer search program's time is spent in your music folders
- You need 3 or more cases to hold all of your cds
- Your music wish list would be the longest if not for the anime wish list
- You recognise a game or movie tune without ever having seen the original
- You memorize a whole song after hearing it only once, and sing it to yourself LITERALLY non-stop on a one-hour car trip (I did this with the castle theme from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past)
- You listen to a movie soundtrack and know exactly what number is connected to which scene, even if the tracks are out of order, even if you haven't seen the movie in a long time
- You can predict who wrote a song the first time hearing it (or at least be on the dot for who it sounds like. My mom agreed that Bowling for Soup's 1985 sounds like Blink 182.)
- You scare your friend when you hear a the first note or measure of a song and scream "OMG!!! TURN IT UP! TURN IT UP! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!" (I did this with the first number of Mononoke Hime; a single drum beat, then silence, then another drum beat, silence again, and then the music starts. I recognised it on the first drum)
- You know the lyrics to every single song a band has done, but know nothing about the band's history, names of the members, etc.
- You have a cd or playlist for every single thing that could happen in a day
- You hear a song once, don't know the title or band, but with the one line you remember, you can do a google search on it.
- You get very upset when a theme from a movie is used in a trailor for a different movie.
- You like remixes of songs, but not when they're so remixed you can't sing along
- You mourn your broken music players
- You have made yourself dizzy from headbanging
- You upload all of your music to iTunes, in alphabetical order by artist, and after three hours, you're only up to C
- You upload all of your music to iTunes, in alphabetical order by artist, and by the time you finally reach Q, your iPod is already half full
- You invent your own harmonies to songs
- You cannot write anything, not even livejournal entries, without music
- You declare an "iPod emergency" if somebody has never heard of a song or band
- Your playlist of dance music gets you funny looks from 60% of the people around you
- People think you're cold because you shiver so much while listening to good music, even if it's just for a second (I always get chills in the middle of the .hack//SIGN opening theme, and for the longest time I thought it was because I was in the basement)
- People try to categorize you by the music you listen to, but can't place you in anything
- Yahoo's audio search option is your hero
- You go through old LJ entries and find one whose current music entry is what you're listening to
Possibly more to come, who knows.
