sagesaria: (Birthday!)
Guess what?

No work today, either.

But it's Heather's birthday, so I have to be happy LOL

Happy birthday, Heather!

- I've only been able to work 3-4 hours this week because we can't get the fucking scanner working.
- I cannot for the life of me get David over here to visit, so I won't be able to see him since Otakon.
- My backup wig looks like shit compared to the main one, and I'm still not sure that I can get the main one to dye properly.

I'm gonna go cry now.

Cinde just called. Apparently the new building is having power problems. And this combined with the fact that we've all moved out makes scanning very low priority.

In short: I don't have work today.

I wish I'd known that sooner when I was having trouble sleeping (IE: 1 AM and wide awake trouble sleeping), then overslept by a half hour. But, oh well.

sagesaria: (kissy kissy <3)
My wig dye came today! I no longer have to worry about going to Otakon as a blonde Flea!

Mom and I are gonna go shopping for more costume material today. Can't wait!

Only 3 weeks until Otakon! EEK!

Anyway, hell week at work is over for me; I had the day off yesterday because the company is moving to a new building, so there wasn't anything for me to scan. It was the scanning that was getting really stressful; jam sessions and screwy computers kept slowing me down. And driving me closer and closer to insanity. Top it off with broken AC and whaddya get? A very very frustrated Saria-chan -_-.

But hopefully once we're settled and I go back into work on Monday, the pressure will be off and everything will get back to its regular, dullsville streak.
sagesaria: (RAR! KIIIIILLLLL!!!)
Since when did work go from exceedingly boring to exceedingly stressful?!?!?!?!

I hope none of you will ever need something as badly as I want to scream right now.

Hi! I'm at work on Mom's comp, eating lunch now that Mom was FINALLY able to get out of the restaurant with my food. I was almost ready to eat my pinky finger.

We have a new guy at the office now.

His name is Joe.

He works in the same areas I do.

He is CUTE! <3<3<3
sagesaria: (@_@)

Apparently the scanner at work has hypnotic powers. Whenever it's going at full speed on like...1200 pages of paper, it has this sorta "Chunk-zzzzz-chunk-zzzzzz-chunk-zzzzz" rhythm that always either:
a. makes me sleepy, or
b. makes me space out entirely except for that "Chunk-zzzzz-chunk-zzzzzz-chunk-zzzzz" rhythm. I zone out on my music too.

It's very weird.

Work is blah. I just scan things all day, click on a bunch of icons, print out a cover page, and give everything to the person who needs them.

My coworker is really sweet; he brought ice cream for everybody. And he's willing to carry big crates of papers when they're too heavy for me :D

Anyway, today I woke up from 6 hours of sleep to hang out with [ profile] nandarou_life. We sorta had a last minute planning of a mini party in celebration of our new jobs. He got to see some Legendary Frog movies, and he met [ profile] maugorn :)

a retake of an old meme )
sagesaria: (Eep!)
Well, I'm apparently wide awake now. I just showered, and I'm about to get some breakfast, then at about 9:30, Mom and I are off to work.

This is when The Jitters kick in.

Wish me luck!
Once again, no sleep for the summer girl....

And I have work in six hours....

sagesaria: (hmmm.....)

The chances of getting the job are fairly high as long as I don't do or say anything stupid. At least according to Mom. Still, I'm a little nervous about it. For one thing, I don't know what kind of schedule I want. I'm not sure when I have to be decided, but I want to be decided by the time I go see the person who wants to hire me (apparently named Cindy?).

At first I was tempted to post this as an "On the other hand..." monologue a la Fiddler on the Roof, but I'll just put it like this.

They want me to work 20 hours a week. My choices are; work a few hours every day, or work full time three days a week.

Part time pros:
more free time daily
less work to do all at once

Part time cons:
no ride home from Mom
need money for bus fair

Full time pros:
more accomplishment daily
round-trip rides to work and back
more full days free

Full time cons:
more work to do
less free time

I think I had more, but I don't remember them.
Any thoughts?
sagesaria: (Cha-CHING!)
So Mom and I went shopping for a new bathing suit for me, along with a pair of goggles that squish my face and make me look ridiculous >_<

Then we went and spoiled Mom with some yummy food. While we were there, she filled me in on a plan at her office....

In short: I may end up getting a summer job there!

I have to go in to talk to them at some point this week. *crosses fingers*
sagesaria: (Default)
As promised, here's the recap of the job fair;

The bus ride was pretty uneventful, but I got off a little ahead of the Rio and got a little lost trying to straighten that out :P

But I got there, I applied, and interviewed. The lady interviewing me was really sweet. I wasn't nervous at all talking to her.

Apparently my schedule issues aren't any big deal, either.

So now....we wait.

(I still can't see the pictures on my pages! Argh!)

Lewis gave me a flier advertising a job fair for a sandwich shop at the Rio shopping center this week! Tomorrow's the last day, but it's a day I can manage a bus ride over to check it out :D

But it says "morning and lunch shifts." I'm not sure exactly what they need from someone, so I just emailed them asking if it would be a problem that I'm in school and wouldn't be able to get there until 2:30 or later, and can only work for a few hours three times a week, according to the school's rules.

I have my fingers crossed! It sounds like a fun place to work! Any place with live entertainment is a plus in my book :D

Coincidentally, the current chapter in Spanish is all about jobs and volunteer work.
sagesaria: (Blah....tired Saria-chan...)
Now that my guilt phase is starting to go away, I'm ready for more happy blogging!

Second semester = so far, so spiffy ^^

Jackie from the old lunch group is in my volleyball class! And so is ROBBIE!!!! YAAAAAAY!!! Robbie was one of the people I didn't get to ask if they were doing second semester, so I didn't know if he was in or not. But he is! YAAAAAY!!!

And by the way, no Carlos or Marcus either!

Carlos is in my Spanish class, but that's different because there's no ball or net involved.

I mentioned before briefly; the people who sit at my table in Food Trends are really nice people. They're a little perverse sometimes, but that's ok; I live with perverts, and it's not the worst thing they can do LOL I even told them that if we worked as a group, I wanted to do more than just dishes (explaining my situation from last year), and they said "Sure thing!" They're also much more attentive than the people I had to work with last year; they're really chatty, but if ANYTHING they say overlaps Ms. Wiggins's directions, it's in low voices so I can still hear her!

Ms. Wiggins is assigning groups next week. I should tell her that I really want to work with these people :)

Come to think of it, I don't think there's anybody in any of my classes that I consider people who piss me off. Maybe I'll be happier this semester!

Auditions for the morning announcements are this upcoming Thursday. I signed up last Wednesday :D

Ms. Bodmer's father passed away recently :( all the PE teachers were at the funeral today, so during Volleyball today I got to sit and write some of an 8-Bit Theatre fanfiction that I've been fiddling around with (there was no actual VB today).

Random thoughts:

- I should go to bed real soon
- 8-Bit Theatre, DDR and Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland in one day = <3
- the lead singer of the people who sang "Go West" on DDRExtreme has a really annoying voice, and it's stuck in my head >_<
- I played a little unsavable FFIV today. I now know where [ profile] damaru's "spoony bard" is from. Why he was called spoony, I might never know, but it was funny.
- Spencer dyed his hair bright orange w/ some red earlier this week. Holy difference, Hatman! He looks pretty cool, though.
- David offered me his part in The Importance of Being Earnest. That was really sweet of him, but I'd already decided I wanted to get back to work in job-hunting, so I couldn't accept. Thanks for the offer, though, Davi-kun! *hugz*
- Speaking of job-hunting, I've gotten application forms for Papa John's and Pizza Hut.
- by now I've finally gotten a different song in my head

Enough blogging. Sleep now. *conks out mid-loading of sleep music*
sagesaria: (Another modern odd couple)
Meh.....Halloween itself wasn't much this year. I was taking a shower before getting into my costume, and by the time I got down there, there was no more candy, thus having no chance to show off my costume to trick-or-treaters :(

Mom and I just watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Spiffy-wheeness! It was kinda on the short side, sadly, but it was way cool! Yes, Mom, you have my vote on BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!!!

It's got me all wound up now too! Good thing there's no school tomorrow. Or Tuesday. Then I have only two days of school, then ROWAN! is coming over! Then there's a possibility of seeing the play that weekend too!

Speaking of which, I have to call Corey tomorrow or Tuesday and ask which day I should come.

And I need to call KB Toys. Gah....why does everything have to involve phones?

This week's profile song lyric is brought to you by....Flashman
sagesaria: (I'm a big girl now!)
Today was Wacky Day, so I got to wear my Micky Mouse ears from Disney World. I swear, I crack people up with those things every year!

We were in the library today in Cwr. We had to pick out books to read to help with our projects. I couldn't find any "For Dummies" books, so instead I went in search of fantasy romances. I found a bunch, but only ended up picking two.

I was late to check out, so I barely made it to volleyball on time, which I think was part of what triggered one of the worst emotional breakdowns in my life.

I was really out of it through the whole game. I don't know why. I just couldn't focus. Through the whole game, I was making stupid mistakes that I normally don't make. I was really embarrassed. I was so shaken that I fell apart with every single negative thought; these people cannot focus at all, I hate the substitute, two people in the class hate me and I don't know why, I've been screwing up all day and I'll bet my team was mad about it, I miss my first VB class etc etc etc....

I couldn't take it anymore. I sat in a corner and cried the rest of the period and halfway through lunch.

I hate falling apart like that. It felt like it was for absolutely no reason. I'm bursting into tears again at the thought of how horrible it felt.

Stupid Dementors.

But I felt better after some Heather Hugs (tm) and a conversation about dogs.

I got to the job fair. It was pretty much a briefing about how things worked around there, and an important announcement; right after Thanksgiving through December, applicants MUST BE AVAILABLE. Which means that I'd have to skip Darkover. Mom had the idea of spending a few hours up there when I'm not gonna be working, but I don't know how that'll work yet. Either way, it won't be the Darkover experience, you know?

Timing is everything :P
sagesaria: (Not even *I* know)
Today was Pajama Day at school, so by the time I was dressed to go, I was ready to go back to bed LOL. I decided to bring my stuffed kitty, Purr, with me, promising myself to be super-duper careful. She had a fun time! Lots of people thought she was the cutest thing in the world and asked to be introduced. And she liked to sit in my lap while I did my work.

Ms. Bodmer's gonna be out tomorrow and the day after, and she was out today too. Waah, I miss her already! Come baaaaaack! ;_;

Corey doesn't know Wacky Wednesday?!? I can forgive her for not liking Dumbo (barely), and I can understand not knowing half of the anime I watch, but SHE'S NEVER EVEN HEARD OF WACKY WEDNESDAY?!?!?!?! *Used Book Store Alert*

We had an assembly about drinking and driving. It was annoying. Mostly because the speaker had speaking problems. I have nothing against him trying, but I couldn't understand a single word he was saying and he talked for about 10 minutes -_-. But I understood once they showed the video on it. But something in the video bothered me; the driver was drunk, and carpooling his friends home. He fell asleep at the wheel. He hit the guardrail, which woke him and the others in the car up. When he dropped the last guy off, he asked him if he was going to be ok, and then just went to bed. Hello?!? If someone falls asleep at the wheel, you should assume that they're NOT ok!!! Let them spend the night! Have someone else take them home! Whatever you do, DON'T LET THEM DRIVE HOME BY THEMSELVES!!!! *pant pant pant*

In CWr, we had to write a poem about our thumbprint, combined with information about ourselves. I thought mine looked like a fuzzy caterpillar (I used too much ink) so I wrote about one. I was rather proud of it, and somebody said that it was really cute and that I should write children's books LOL

Which reminds me, I should update [ profile] sarias_stories *sweatdrop*

I took the bus to the mall after school. After getting lost and killing my feet, I turned in my application. They told me that there's a job fair on Wednesday. I should call [ profile] maugorn and let him know.

That's all for now. Sleepy Saria go update story journal.
sagesaria: (Default)
Dad and I went out for stuff today. First we went to the mall because he needed to get to the bank and decided we should check into KB Toys while we're in the neighborhood. I picked up an application and was hoping to deal with it before we had to leave, but I forgot my social security number, and I was confused about a lot of stuff, so we decided it was best to take it home.

Afterward, we went to the autumn festival to pick out some pumpkins. I got a really clever idea for what to do with mine. What is it? Not telling. You'll have to wait until later when I do it and get a picture of it. Nyah nyah!

We also went on a hayride, as was necessary to get to the pumpkin patch. Hay feels weird when you sit in it, and it really likes to cling. But the ride was fun; very bumpy and the road made me feel like we were gonna capsize sometimes, but that was kinda a scary way.

So tomorrow, I'm gonna take the bus to the mall after school and turn in my application. I hope I get hired; I was having so much fun just sitting there filling the form out, imagine actually working there!

Oh, and I finished my video project :D I'm rather proud of it.
sagesaria: (Cha-CHING!)
Me: So Dad, after we get some pumpkins on Sunday, can we go to KB Toys?
Dad: Sure.
Mom: Why? What's at KB Toys?
Me: A "Help Wanted" sign.

That's right! KB Toys is hiring! It's accessible by bus, so that'd be kinda weird (I have this thing about going on public transportation alone:\) but it'd be fun! And the chances of landing a job are more likely (I hope), since it's actually looking for help.

Wow, what a compromise....can't get a donut shop, how about a toy store? :D

Also, we saw Monk for the first time today. Wow, Corey was right! I love it!
